Once the of the late Captain Peter Troake who sailed the MV Christmas Seal testing
for tuberculosis in the outports around Newfoundland and Labrador
The home was built in 1881 by the late Ephraim Jacobs it has beautiful tin ceilings on the main floor
and was designated a municipal heritage site by the Town of Twillingate due to its aesthetic
and historic value.
It's a good example of an outport home with Victorian Gothic Revival influence , a steeply pitched gable roof and the front facade is symmetrical and features a pair of two-storey three sided bay windows topped by classical pedimented roofs. www.historicplaces.ca ( Ephraim Jacobs )
